Basics on Bolivia
- Bolivia
is a country of 420.000 square miles (over 1.000.000 km2) and rich in natural resources, such as Oil,
Gas, Soya, Cattle, Wood, Sugar, Hydrocarbons, and Minerals
- Bolivian
beef prices see a sharp increase due to increased demand from Brazil, Peru and
Asian countries. Prices are expected to continue to grow as populations become
wealthier and more people globally move into cities (with 700 million people in
China and India alone moving to cities). Meat prices increased from about USD
1.30 to USD 2.20 per kilo "gancho" over the last 18 months
- Prices of
agricultural land in Bolivia have increased over the last years, but are still
low in comparison to Paraguay or Argentina
- Prices
per hectare range from USD 50 to USD 4,000 compared to USD 5,000 and up to USD
13,000 in Argentina
- Argentines
and Brazilians have been buying up properties in the Santa Cruz area for cattle
breeding and soya production
